We are home at last…
Posted by Darla
We left Jerusalem at 2:30 a.m. and went by van to the airport. It took us not quite an hour to get there. We began experiencing Israel’s security even before we got off the van. Once inside the airport we were questioned, our bags then put through an x-ray machine and then some of us were sent to another area. More questions and then we had to open our bags. We all passed, checked our bags and began our next adventure. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 7:something. The flight was delayed so we sat in the airport for about another hour. We then sat on the plane for quite a while and then they began to serve breakfast… not a good sign when you are still on the ground. Anyway, we were really late in leaving so you guessed it, we missed our flight in London. They put us on the next available flight to Chicago, however our luggage apparently went somewhere else. So, we are at home, safe and sound and our luggage will be brought to us whenever they find it.
As you can imagine, everyone is reeeaallyy tired, but nevertheless happy to be home.
Thank you for following our trip and keeping us in your prayers. When my brain begins to function again, I will post a ‘recap’ of the trip.
