Help!
Our brains are totally saturated and I can’t tell you what is happening in our hearts.
We began this morning with a lecture from a Muslim gentleman on the definition of Islam. We then boarded a van and spent the day touring Bethlehem. We went to the mountain where King Herod built a fortress and they have recently found what they believe is his grave. From there we went to Shepherds Field and then on to the Church of the Nativity. Our guide was very helpful.
We then came back and met with Bushara’s son, Sammi who operates Holy Land Trust. It is a group that teaches and leads nonviolent demonstrations. We were so impressed with him and his mission here. We were then joined by Nasiim who shared what he does. He then joined us for dinner and we felt changed. It is really difficult to put into words right now. Someone said, “How will we live now, knowing what we know”? It will take some time to wrap our minds around all of this. We had a sweet time praying for these two men, Sammi and Nasiim and their work here.
For just three full days, we have learned an incredible amount.
Dinner tonight was in a really good Palestinian restaurant. There were maybe 8 different salads, hummus, pita bread and then platters of lamb, chicken and french fries. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmgood!
That’s all for now,
The Israel Team
