Now there is one

Posted by Darla

The “week two” team arrived home safely in Chicago tonight.  Dick flew from Harlingen to Atlanta, Bill and Edie to Tucson. What a shock to our system……sunny and hot to cold and snow.

Keith has remained in Mexico until Wednesday to finish up some things and help with the team from MN who will arrive at 8:00 p.m. tonight.

Let me back up a little.  Last night we had our “Thank you” dinner for all the ladies who so lovingly cooked for us every day.  We decorated the room with white table cloths, little potted begonias, red and pink heart napkins and red cups.  We served salads with warm garlic bread and spaghetti with meatballs.  For dessert we served brownies with chocolate ganache, whipped cream a cherry on heart shaped plates.  It was really fun and the ladies sang to us their thank you.

This morning we stopped by the work site to take final pictures.  What a difference from when we began!

We headed for the border and had a fitting end to our week.  Keith was driving the first van with Dick, Ken and Pat.  I was driving the second van with Lou, Sue, Bonnie, Christa, Demi and Caleb, Edie and Bill.  At the crossing the Border Guard asked to see our identification.  He then said, “God bless you for what you are doing here!  The Harvest is ripe.  God bless you!”  We all kind of sat there with our mouths hanging open!  This is not the usual conversation at the Border!  He then shared with us how he does his “part” in the “pulpit” that God has given him.

A perfect ending to our week.

We have been truly blessed for the work of our hands.  And I believe don’t even know the effect on the ‘harvest’ in Mexico.

Thank you for your prayers!
