Well here I am on “Mexican time.”  We need two vans to go to Texas to pick up the team and one has a dead battery.  The men are working on it, so I am waiting at the Cyber Cafe for them.  I am supposed to be at the Hotel unpacking and washing all the kitchen stuff.  Well at least the boxes are there.  And as we learn here, there is always “later.”

Last night we had dinner at Jovita’s.  It reminded me of how much joy there is here.  Ohilbia and Gregario were there with their little girl, Genisis.  Eliud, Karen and Cheiro were also home.  Gamma returned home from Seminary in Rio Bravo and I can’t even tell you how many others stopped by or who they all were!  We just kept shifting chairs.  Jovita magically kept producing more food and “agua de pina.”   With each new person, new stories and more laughter.  For those of you who have never been to Jovita’s house, it is four small rooms built on the back of the Church.  The floor is cement.  The “kitchen” is on one end of the “living room.”  In the eleven years we have been coming to VH, not much has changed.  Most people I know would call this a “poor” situation.  But I must tell you, they are RICH in everything that is important!  It is where we like to be while in VH.  This dwelling is full of love, laughter and great faith!  We should all be so ”rich.”

This morning Keith and I arrived at the lumber yard just as the truck with all the sheet rock was preparing to unload.  Whew, just in time.  We led them to the site and they helped us stack all of it inside the building (well, Keith helped unload, not me…….hey someone has to take pictures !:)

We have told everyone that the family “Ruiz” will be invading VH next week!
